Hello there. My name is Khim Ming Liew and I am the host of this blog, khimming.com. Some of my friends call me Chris Liew. Beside technology and blogging, I take up several other roles in my life, primarily defined by my skills, interests and passions.
You can find my contact details in my contact page.
I started khimming.com in August 2006 as a hobby. Since then, this blog has gone through a few facelift and changes in topic focus. In 2008, I decided to relaunch this website with the aim to aim my fellow readers to better use new technologies and Internet to enrich their lifestyle. Hence, you will find up-to-date technology information that is practical, usable and easily applicable to your daily life. I welcome your visit and feedback.
I work as a Microsoft SharePoint consultant focusing on the development and infrastructure sides of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS 2007). I am also a Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) and Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA).
MOSS 2007 is Microsoft portal solution offering for enterprises, with main benefits of streamlined collaboration system for information worker and decision makers.
I currently work in a Microsoft Partner technology firm, ISA Technologies. Some of the MOSS projects that I involved in are first big scale MOSS 2007 implementation in Malaysia for Malaysian Biotechnology Corporation, volunteer portal for Fire and Emergency Service Association (FESA) in Western Australia and Intranet portal solution for Department of Premier and Cabinet (DPC) in Western Australia.
I am huge fan of new web technology, including the much hyped web 2.0 (3.0 already?). My enthusiasm comes not only from the hunger to know the latest technology advancement, but more importantly the desire to take advantage of these innovation to better our life.
Curious about what this is all about, then get in touch with me. I am happy to chat with like-minded people. You can also check out my usual reading from my RSS subscriptions list here.
Naturally, as a person who spends too much time online, I picked up Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) as one of the pass time. As a freelance , I’ve helped several businesses in improving their search engine ranking and visibility. The scope of my work also includes Google Adwords Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and analytic services. My former clients include Hasil Karya Sdn Bhd, a metal working machine supplier and Aurora Fashion, a fashion boutique in Malaysia.
If you have the need to hire a webmaster for your website or need assistance to implement your search marketing strategies, you can get in contact with me.
Another online addiction of mine is domaining. Domaining is an activity of buying and selling domain name for investment purposes.
As a casual domainer, I currently maintain a portfolio of just over 100 domain names, including premium 4 letter .mobi names. The niche of my domain names is consumer products.
I am actively seeking to buy more premium names for other domain investor and in the same time selling some of my best names to natural owner (people/companies who really have a development plan for the domain).
If you need some advices on domain name strategy either for investment or development purpose, email me. I would very much like to help. My full portfolio is available upon serious request.
My other interests are copywriting, marketing, philosophy, psychology, cryptography, artificial intelligence, and anything related to mystery. If you are into any of those, be my friend. You can get my contacts here.
Now, enough about me, go read something meaningful.
